Mow, Shanny

Born at Stockton, CA; deafened at age 5 from meningitis. B.S. from Gallaudet College and M.A. from California State University at Northridge; taught at schools for the deaf in Montana, New Mexico, and Hawaii. Cast member of the National Theatre of the Deaf beginning 1978; for a time, was a member of the company of Signstage Theatre in Cleveland, OH during the 1990s; also wrote and directed several plays, including Counterfeits and The Cat Spanking Machine.
