Summary
Born deaf at Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. Went to the Manitoba Institution for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb 1895-1905, the Kendall School for the Deaf 1906-1907, and Gallaudet College 1907-1908. Married Muriel Jean McShane in 1923. Established a homestead in Saskatchewan in 1909 on land given to him by his hearing father. 1915, moved to Regina and began teaching at the new Saskatchewan School for the Deaf, 1916-1940 at the Manitoba School for the Deaf, and 1940-1961 at the Mackay Institution for Protestant Deaf.
