Born deaf at Brooklyn, NY; mainstreamed in Long Island, NY through high school graduation in 1969. Graduated Gallaudet College, 1973 and took a master's from New York University in 1975. Moved to Canada about 1977, becoming a Canadian citizen in 1983. Taught in a preschool program for the deaf at an Alberta hospital and the Alberta School for the Deaf before moving to the E.C. Drury School for the Deaf, teaching there 1991 onward.
