Summary
Born at Algoma, WI; deafened from pneumonia at age 2. Graduated the Wisconsin School for the Deaf, 1963, and Gallaudet College, 1968. Founding member of the National Theatre of the Deaf, 1969-1976; worked as a dormitory counselor at Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf, but continued to act, notably in the TV movie Love is never silent. In 1991, founded and became artistic director of Deaf West, a professional theater group for deaf persons. Married to Linda Bove (q.v.)
