Native of Chatham, ON; deaf at 4 from measles and spinal meningitis. Ontario School for the Deaf, Belleville 1944-1958. Played in many different sports beginning in school. Worked as a gas meter repairman 1960 until retirement in 1995. Married Judy Leora Lerg in 1968. Coach of many sports teams, hearing as well as deaf, and founded an amateur deaf sports organization.
