Wells, Carolyn

Born at Rahway, NJ; always refused to disclose the date of her birth. Deafened by scarlet fever at age 6. Mostly self-taught; wrote poetry and articles for British and American periodicals, plus over 170 different books, notably detective and mystery stories. Autobiography was The Rest of My Life (1937).
