Summary
Born deaf to deaf parents at New Westminster, BC; raised in Port Moody, BC. Attended the Jericho Hill School for the Deaf from age 4 1/2 to 1981, then graduated Kitsilano High School 1981-1985. B.A. from Gallaudet University and M.S. from Western Maryland College. Taught at the Texas School for the Deaf from about 1991 onward; appointed to early childhood/elementary principal there in 2001. Married to a deaf American, Paul Rutowksi.
