Summary
Deafened at age 9; attended public schools in Chemung and Waverly, NY, graduating high school in 1962. Graduated Gallaudet College 1966; later earned master's and PhD degrees as well. Teacher of mathematics and then program developer at Gallaudet College, 1968-ca. 1976; changed fields to drama for stage and television. Won a local Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in special television programming. Returned to Gallaudet University as chair of the TV, Film and Photography Dept. 1992-1994.
